Story behind
If waking up in the morning is the beginning of a drama, and sleeping with our eyes closed is the end, then my every day in Spain the opening must be to brew a cup of moka coffee. Some people say I am addicted to coffee, but I would say it is absolutely a self-chosen plot. Every wisp of coffee mist gives me an inexplicable sense of contentment, reminding me that it is a blessing that I am alive on stage. No matter what I encounter, be they good or bad, they are simply plots to be learnt in life. A professor in a drama course I attended once said, “If there aren’t any conflicts or ups and downs in a story, there will be no drama. Who can endure a boring show?”
The protagonist in the painting is GoOn whose two masters run a coffee business. Every day he is inseparable from them. I imagine GoOn breathes coffee every second, which means every moment he stays contentedly in the opening. What a special drama that is composed of a lifetime of openings!
